National Junior Honor Society- raising money and awareness for the Epilepsy Foundation
This is my friend, Ally, who is a pitcher on my softball team (she rocks). Ally is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and told me about a "project" they are doing. It's called the Epilepsy Door Banger. Each member has to talk to 25 people about epilepsy and raise $50 for the Epilepsy Foundation. That is pretty AWESOME!!! Thank you Ally, Bailee, and Ali!!!!

My mom and I mailed about 50 letters to local businesses. We are trying to get sponsors and/or donations for my pig roast. We have more work to do and will keep working at it a little at a time, but this is a busy time for me with softball games, pitching lessons, and drum lessons. :D We are also brainstorming for a new "fundraiser" for any fastpitch softball pitchers- we might call it "Striking for a Cure". Hopefully we'll be able to do this toward the end of summer. My mom thinks it would be a good time to do it so all the pitchers can get some practice in for fall ball.

I am gearing up for my first annual "purple" pig roast to raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation. Purple is the color of epilepsy awareness, not the pig. If you would like more information about this event and how you can help please email my mom: imarn819@aol.com

weekend
This weekend was boring. The weather was cloudy and cold- couldn't go out to practice pitching or take my dog to the dog park... Talked with my parents about upcoming fundraisers, we need to get started on organizing my 1st annual purple pig roast.
